New Can-Am Off-Road Defender XU Puts Utility at Forefront while Can-Am Outlander Pro Gets to Work With Added Features

2027 Can-Am Defender HD10 XU, Can-Am Defender MAX HD 11 XU, and Can-Am Outlander PRO.
Valcourt, Quebec, August 17, 2026 – Can-Am, iconic brand of BRP Inc. (TSX/NASDAQ: DOO), proudly introduces a new Defender model, the XU, that puts Utility at the forefront for 2027. Available across the lineup, the XU model creates the ultimate workhorse side-by-side vehicle (SSV). If an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) is the right tool for the job, the Can-Am Outlander Pro is purpose-driven for a work environment.
The 2027 Can-Am Defender XU Lineup
Farmers, ranchers, land managers and riders rely on an SSV that comes to work with them every day, ready to do every job that is asked of it. Hold every tool needed for the day's work. Be adaptable to changing needs and increased workloads. That is exactly what the new Can-Am Defender XU model delivers, regardless of the Defender configuration chosen.
For 2027, the Defender XU model is available across the lineup, from base to Lonestar, open and closed cabin packages, with the exception of the mud specialist X mr package. The XU model includes work-ready, factory-installed Can-Am accessories like the Headache Rack, Low Bed Wall Extender with LinQ Tool Holders and a Trailer Hitch Ball Mount to create the perfect workhorse.
Headache Rack

The Headache Rack brings enhanced storage capability for both tools and cargo. Its wire-screen design offers flexible cargo-mounting options, while integrated LinQ anchors and forged steel corner tie-down points provide secure attachment and transport of materials. Plus, it provides a valuable layer of protection for the cab as the bed fills up with everything needed for the day's activities.
Low Bed Wall Extender
The Low Bed Wall Extender expands the cargo capacity of the Defender by adding 16 inches of vertical height to the bed with thick steel-tube construction featuring an anti-corrosion coating with durable powder coat finish. This means larger cargo loads, more tie-down points and extra mounting options for tools, equipment and accessories. As an added bonus, each upper end is equipped with a ruler to facilitate measurements when needed.
The Low Bed Wall Extender also allows the installation of the Cargo Rack Multi-position over the bed to create a second level of storage. This is an optional accessory that must be purchased separately.
LinQ Tool Holders
Integrated into the Low Bed Wall Extender, the LinQ Tool Holders are designed to securely store a variety of long-handle tools, like shovels and rakes, that don’t fit in a tool box. The convenient mounting location optimizes cargo organization and makes it easy to quickly access tools for the task at hand.
Trailer Hitch Ball Mount
The Trailer Hitch Ball Mount is a must-have when the need arises to tow something behind the Can-Am Defender while working in the fields. From utility trailers to sprayers and spreaders, the Hitch Ball Mount makes use of the Defender’s 2,500-pound towing capacity. It is designed to fit trailer hitches with a 2" x 2" (5 cm x 5 cm) receiver tube opening. The hitch is off center, allowing it to be raised 1" (2.5 cm) or lowered 2" (5 cm) for precise trailer levelling. While the ball is not included, the mount accepts a ¾" ball shank.
The 2027 Can-Am Outlander Pro Lineup
ATVs continue to be a valuable tool for ranchers, farmers and other utility-focused jobs. The Can-Am Outlander Pro was built exactly for those applications with specific work-inspired features. The Outlander Pro models feature firmer, work-oriented suspension settings, a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that is calibrated for Utility applications, front and rear bumpers, A-arm protectors and thicker-ply tires. They also continue to feature a speed limiter thanks to the Intelligent Throttle Control (ITC) system. New for 2027 on all Outlander Pro models are handguards, fender flares, footwell protectors and trailer hitch mount.
Can-Am prides itself on having an SSV and ATV for every application. The new 2027 Defender XU model and updated Outlander PRO are just a small example of that.
